Book signing at San Diego Comic-Con 2023

COURTNEY SIEH
Hello! I am an illustrator and designer living in Saint Paul, MN on one of those streets lined with Victorian houses. I am kept company at my drafting table by my two cats, Voodoo and Babydoll. In the off hours I enjoy dancing and exploring all the the Twin Cities have to offer, especially in the way of pastries and vintage shops.
My first graphic novel was released April 2022 by Gallery 13 of Simon and Schuster. Ten Days in a Mad-House was co-created with writer Brad Ricca, adapted from the journalism of Nellie Bly. It was nominated for a 2023 Will Eisner Award for Best Adaptation from Another Medium, recognized by the New York Public Library as one of the 2022 Best Graphic Novels for Adults, and nominated by the YSLSA to be a Great Graphic Novel of 2022. It was also reviewed favorably by Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and the Plain Dealer.
Presently I am working on an independent comic project, a dating memoir. All You Disappointing Motherfuckers is being released as installments are finished on Substack.
Companies included on my commercial client list are Target, Sam’s Club, MONO branding agency, IG Design Group, Sketchy Learning, and Creative Memories. I began my affinity with product design making buyer mockups at American Greetings. My assignments have ranged from surface design to educational illustrations to lifestyle photoshoot direction.
As an avid swing dancer I have created designs and merchandise for many dance scenes and workshops. These include All Balboa Weekend, Get Hep Swing, SparX, Great Lakes Balboa Escape, Great Lakes Shag Escape, Columbus Lindy & Blues Exchange, Rhythm Shuffle, and Faultline Swing.
I graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA in Illustration and an emphasis in Interior Architecture.
Please email for any projects I can help with. Very excited to work with you.
